Tire Alignment is Important for Any Vehicle

If you’re one of those people who regularly check the tires on your vehicle for wear and tread depth—great!

But don’t forget that one of the most important things to do is schedule a tire alignment at regular intervals.

For a car to keep steady and stay evenly on the road, tires need to be aligned. Improper alignment can cause the steering wheel to feel like it’s pulling, and causes quicker wear and tear on the tires. Misalignment will also put undue stress on your vehicle's suspension. This poses a risk of damaging those components which will most likely result in expensive repairs.

What causes misalignment?

Hitting a large pothole head-on may cause more than a loud thud. It could throw off your car’s wheel alignment. So will a car accident, no matter how minor. Running over debris on the road can cause problems. Hitting a curb will also cause damage. After any of these events, it’s a great idea to at least take your vehicle to our service center to have the alignment checked.

If your tires have strange wear, such as on the inside or outside more than anywhere else, there is most likely an alignment issue. The tread will vary by how badly misaligned the wheels are, though it won't always be hugely noticeable. Regardless, if the lines aren't straight or resemble crayon scribbles, it’s time to call your trusted mechanic.

Another telltale sign is if the vehicle feels off-kilter, even on level ground. When part of the tire doesn’t touch the road as it should, the balance is off.

Improper wheel alignment can also create a safety hazard in addition to messing up tire tread and gas mileage.

Fixing wheel alignment involves adjusting the angle of the vehicle’s wheels so that they are perpendicular to the ground and parallel. Mechanics mount a camera on each wheel to measure each tire’s specific positioning.

Our specially trained technicians at Fiesta Motors Service Center have all the necessary equipment to make sure that your vehicle’s tires are properly aligned.
